An incomplete stress fracture in his lower back sidelined Andrew Bogut last season, causing him to miss 46 games. In the 36 games he managed to play, he averaged a decent low double-double with 11.7-10.3 and 1.0 blocks.

In a September 6th blog entry by Andrew Bogut himself, on AndrewBogut.net.au, entitled "Great Week of Workouts!", he shared with everyone how he was doing training-wise.
"This past week I have stepped up the training in my effort to get to 100% after my injury. Every day of last week I was out of bed by 8am and @ the gym by 9. I got treatment for about half an hour. Following that I was in the weight room. Hitting the weights, doing a lot of Pilates and core and finally finishing with Conditioning. Following that I worked out with the fellas for 40 mins. The only thing I couldn't do with them was scrimmage which is what they did at the end. On Tuesdays and Thursdays following that I did some extra running outside on the grass near our facility. Tuesday I did some wind sprints, and Thursday a pretty tough set of uphill sprints. The good news is I pulled up fine by the weekend and got through the week great! Its a small step but it's going in the right direction..."
In a tweet by @AndrewMBogut today, he says "Just finished my pilates n core session and individual basketball work out with Coach Kelvin Sampson! Nice day yet again..."
So far so good. He's clearly not 100% yet, but his progress looks good. It will take him time to strengthen his back to a level that will allow it to take the bumping and slamming that will be expected to take place in the NBA's painted area. Once his doctors clear him for more intensive contact drills and perhaps scrimmaging in the future, we should get a better outlook on his progress.
In the weeks to come, fantasy drafters should be able to properly project when to draft him. For now, he still remains a relatively late round PF/C pick who should give your fantasy team some points, double-digit boards, decent blocks, and great FG%.
Fantasy eyes will be on Andrew and Michael Redd as both of them will be viewed to carry the Bucks' season on their collective knees and backs. Personally, I wish him well and the best of luck as he tries to stay on track with his recovery.
