The Oklahoma City Thunder is a growing, and exciting, young team.
It's superstar, Kevin Durant, is expected to explode in fantasy basketball this season. His partner in crime, Jeff Green, appears to primed to emerge as a dynamic scoring power forward this year. The team's sophomore point guard, Russell Westbrook, is projected to be one of the point guards who are supposed to pleasantly surprise us this fantasy fantasy season. Last but not the least, rookie James Harden, is scouted to be an instant-impact rookie for the team. All of these players will make a splash in one way or another in fantasy this season.
I did not have the pleasure of owning Kevin Durant last season, so I did not get to follow his stats very closely. This season, his fantasy value is projected to put him in the 4-6 pick range of the first round. Many a drafter, in the various mock drafts I've participated in, have drafted him over solid and consistent fantasy producers like Kobe Bryant and Dirk Nowitzki. The anticipation for this kid's upside is palpable indeed.
I am also pretty pumped about what Jeff Green can achieve in terms of fantasy production. On the other hand, I am wary of drafting Russell Westbrook and his poor FG% and high number of turnovers. Intrigued and interested as I am about these guys, I did what any self-respecting fantasy expert would do. I consulted and collaborated with my network's resident Thunder uber-fan, Zorgon over at BlueBlitz.net, and came-up with a humble yet reasonably wicked fantasy preview for the OKC Thunder! The preview is up on his blog. To read it in full, click on this LINK.
