The San Antonio Spurs' Big 3 sat out in the game versus the Denver Nuggets. Coach Gregg Popovich wanted to give Tim Duncan and Tony Parker a rest after having to run around all over the court against the Golden State Warriors the night before. Manu Ginobili really deserved the rest as he's suffering from a bruised hip and various other body aches, scrathces, and bruises from assorted sources of contact. It's probably the result of his gung-ho style of driving to the hoop!

The Spurs are on an extended road trip and Coach Pops probably wants his boys to get some R and R to freshen up for the team's succeeding matchups.
I guess Gregg doesn't play fantasy basketball. If he does, he doesn't own any of his Spurs. Oh yeah, he plays real basketball management. I forgot that for a second there. Fantasy owners of the SA Big 3 must be foaming at the mouth right about now as their key players ended up missing a game.
The Spurs only have 3 games on queue this week, so this "sitting" translates into only 2 games played by some important fantasy assets and that is assuming coach doesn't want to give them an extened break. I'd hate to be the guy who hedged his draft of Tim Duncan by deciding to build his fantasy team around Manu and Tony too.
Imagine that, owners are missing these averages for one day:
Tim Duncan: 20.6 PPG / 10.4 RPG / 3.7 APG / 0.5 SPG / 1.8 BPG / 52 FG%
Manu Ginobili: 15.8 PPG / 4.6 RPG / 3.4 APG / 1.5 SPG / 1.5 3PG / 87.7 FT%
Tony Parker: 20.7 PPG / 2.8 RPG / 6.6 APG / 0.9 SPG / 50 FG%
I personally have mixed reactions. Well mainly because I am playing in 8 Yahoo leagues this season. Yes I know, I should either get a life or professional help. I own Tony in the GMTR Readers League and up against Skeeter's small ball monstrosity of a team, so I'm like "Oh, Crap!" Then again, my opponent this week in another league owns Tony P, so I'm like "W00t! Die, DBR (my opp's team name), die!"
Overall, I would tell fellow owners to take this event in stride. It does sting for the week, but in a long term perspective the rest can do our boys some good. Looking on the brightside, it could have been worse. At least your Tim Duncan is not out for a longer period of time. Right now I'd be more than happy to own TD than say, Andrew "Bye-bye"-num. It might be a blessing in disguise. TD, TP and MG are all notorious for slowly puttering down towards the end of the season due to fatigue. Coach Pops' decision to pace his guys may pay dividends for their fantasy owners come fantasy playoffs.

Although its not exactly that worrisome on my end. (I have Dwight/Brook/Emeka and Tim)
I dont think you pay a guy a million dollars just to rest up once in a while.
Well Pop wants his millionaires well rested I guess.
